Everyone's Irish on St. Pats Day, Garland Jeffreys Sings Van Morrison

NYC rock-n-roll legend Garland Jeffreys claims to be "maybe 2% Irish," but he tore the house down at the All-Star Irish Rock Revue last weekend at the Highline Ballroom. The annual benefit show featured Rock Roll Hall Of Famers Tami Lynn, The Rascals' Gene Cornish, The Asbury Juke Horns and more as they paid tribute to music from The Emerald Isle. Proceeds from the show went to the Bowery Mission. Each performer was asked to do a song by an Irish songwriter; Garland sang a rollicking version of Van Morrison's "Gloria": http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wTJSgzxut1g

Garland's first album in 13 years, 'The King Of In Between,' will be out this spring and you can hear "Coney Island Winter," the ripping first single, here: http://soundcloud.com/gjeffreysadmin/coney-island-winter (feel free to post)
